Acoustic PhilosophyTechno is rhythm music. Almost all techno is built on a 4/4 time signature and a 16-step grid. In this module, you will learn how to translate classical rhythm concepts—like beats, measures, and subdivisions—into grid positions on a step sequencer.

Sequencer Tip: Program a classic 4-to-the-floor beat by placing kick drum hits on steps 1, 5, 9, and 13. Adding percussion (noise) triggers on the offbeat steps 3, 7, 11, and 15 immediately gives you a classic bouncy house/techno groove!
