Activity Log

Suggested Duration: 20 Hours per unit

"I am nowhere near my limit. I just want to see if there are such things as limits. I want to go and find out."

Clara Hughes, 6-Time Olympic Medalist

Consistency is the foundation of physical development and active living. In each unit of this course, you are required to log 20 hours of physical activity according to your personal fitness plan.

As an Assessment for Learning, the Activity Log is a tool for self-monitoring and tracking progress. Reflecting on your daily training helps you notice patterns, understand how your body responds, and make adjustments over time.

Activity Logging Guidelines

To ensure your logged hours are valid and count toward your credit, observe the following:

  • Duration: Target training sessions that last at least 20 minutes.
  • Notes & Data: You must use the structured notes format (RPE, Primary Metric, and Focus) within your log notes to track your progress quantitatively.
  • Safety Checks: You must perform a quick inspection of your equipment and training space before beginning any activity, and check the safety protocol box on the log form.
💡

Tracking Tip: Format your notes consistently to build strong tracking habits:

RPE (1-10): 7
Primary Metric: 5km run in 26:30 mins (Avg HR: 154 bpm)
Focus: Practiced mid-foot strike, completed 5-min post-run stretch.
