Exam Task

Suggested Duration: 10 Hours

"I just wish people would realize that anything's possible if you try; dreams are made possible if you try."

Terry Fox, Canadian Humanitarian & Athlete

In this final assessment, you will act as a health and fitness promoter. Your task is to pitch a healthy, active lifestyle to your peers in a compelling, 4–5 minute video.

A great pitch needs proof. You will use the concrete, visual data from your term logs as your "case study" to prove that setting specific goals, training consistently, and making healthy choices actually produce results. Sell them on the journey, using your data as the primary evidence.

Your video should be between 4–5 minutes long.

💡

Presentation & AI Tip: Use the Copy button in the History section of the course app to copy all your logged workouts. Paste it directly into Google Sheets, then use the Gemini helper panel to help you analyze your data. You can ask Gemini to "Create a formula to calculate my weekly improvement" or "Suggest a chart to show my progress." Export or screenshot these charts to overlay or screen-share in your video!

Pitch Structure & Key Components

Structure your video pitch using the following roadmap, using your own journey as the product case study:

  • 1. Hook: Your Target Goal: Open your pitch by introducing the specific fitness or skill goal you chose for the term. Explain why this goal is worth pursuing and how it sets the foundation for personal growth.

  • 2. Proof: Data & Visualizations: Present the Google Sheet where you pasted your logged data from the course app. You must display at least one chart or graph (e.g., line graph showing endurance gains or bar chart of workout frequency). Reference specific numbers and explain what the trend lines prove about your physical progress and training consistency.

📊 How to Create a Chart in Google Sheets
Method A: Standard Google Sheets Steps
    1. Select the range of cells containing your data (including headers/labels).
    2. In the top menu, click Insert > Chart. Sheets will generate a chart automatically.
    3. Use the Chart editor panel on the right to change the chart type (e.g., to a "Line Chart" to show progress over time) or customize labels under the Customize tab.
    Method B: Gemini AI Steps
    1. Open your sheet and click the Gemini spark icon in the top toolbar (or the side panel).
    2. Type a prompt like: "Create a line chart showing my weekly improvement for the selected cells" or "Suggest a chart to visualize this data."
    3. Gemini will analyze your selection and insert the chart directly into your sheet.
  • 3. Data Analysis (Why It Works): Analyze the numbers for your audience. Did you hit your target goal? If yes, what specific training patterns in your log got you there? If no, what does your data tell you about the challenges you faced and how to adjust your workout strategy moving forward?

  • 4. Product Demo: Skill & Safety: Pitch your sport through one of the movement skills you developed. Demonstrate proper execution of the skill (preparation, execution, and follow-through), and explain the safety guidelines (the "do's and don'ts") so your peers know how to practice it without getting injured.

  • 5. Value-Add: Health Connections: Connect physical activity to overall lifestyle. Explain how a key concept from your Health unit (Healthy Eating, Conflict Resolution, or Living Independently) supported your progress. For example, pitch how tracking nutrition (Healthy Eating) directly boosted your energy levels and workout stats, showing that healthy choices are interconnected.

  • 6. Call to Action (Motivation): Close your pitch with an inspiring call to action. Motivate your peers to begin their own active living journey, using your data-backed progress as concrete evidence of what is possible.
